Clear lens face piercing: undecided

Fake or not? I can't decide whether this piercing is real or photoshopped.

At first glance, the teeth look way too low down to be real. But when I shut my mouth and feel for where my teeth are, they're lower than I'd otherwise have thought. And people do crazy things with body modifications, for sure.

You decide.

'Creeper in my apartment' - urban myth fail

A guy on YouTube claims he set up a hidden camera in his apartment to find out why his food was going missing, and discovered a girl living in the roof space above his kitchen. She apparently emerged to raid his fridge, lounge around in his armchair and take advantage of his cable subscription.

The man who shot the video now says he is a professional actor called Joe Cummings. I'm thinking he got found out and decided he would stick to his basic story, but had more to lose by not fessing up to his identity.

The story is far-fetched, and the telltale clue is from about the 0:20 mark in the video: said feral intruder can clearly be seen waiting to emerge in the background. Even if the story wasn't a pile of BS, she would certainly have seen the camera being set up and known she was rumbled.

Besides, the barebones plot of this hoax is the basis of numerous urban legends (though usually it turns out to be Mexican immigrants hiding out in the attic). If this were real, the mainstream media would have picked it up by now.

Letter from Susin FAIL

Dad tells girl the Navy doesn't kill people. "They just give blow jobs."

Definite fake.

Most kids would write "My girlfriend and me," not "My girlfriend and I." And any kid who can write this well knows how to spell her own name. "Susin" my ass.

It's fake out there

Don't know about you, but I don't like being the one to interrupt the flow of LOLs on a thread to scream FAKE! It's like peeing on someone's parade. If that harassed mom or that lonely 13-year-old or that weeded-out college student wants to believe that little jungle girl he just saw crawl out of a hole in someone's kitchen was really an illegal Mexican immigrant, who am I to rob them of that small pleasure?

The more people know they can earn internet LOLs and sometimes nice sums of cash from their prank videos, sensational stories and real-life shock footage, the more they will set out to fake said items of online tomfoolery.

With that in mind, I decided to create RealityFAIL, a place away from the crowds where I get to sit at my computer and shout FAKE! at the internets.
